Birthday Time

We've been doing a lot of celebrating at the Bahr house this past month. Yesterday was Tim's big day! With Tim busy studying for boards it was a pretty normal day...but we did make a little time for some fun. We had a fun morning opening presents (Kate pretty much opened all of them) and eating a yummy breakfast. And then went out to dinner to one of our favorite places and enjoyed ice cream cake at home! One year old and wiser too, happy birthday to you, Tim!

It's A....

GIRL!!!

It's official...we found out today that our little baby is a little lady! It's a girl! Kate is going to be have a little sister!

I was totally surprised...I really thought it was a boy. We are totally thrilled! And I am especially excited for Kate. From what I've learned...although sisters fight like crazy they are also the closest and best of friends.

Bring on the pink!!

Springfield, IL

To celebrate the end of the semester (and the end of the first two years of med school/the book work) we headed down to Springfield, IL to visit the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. It was totally awesome!

Us with the Lincoln's in front of the White House
Kate loved this doll house they had in the children's play area. She loved playing with the Lincoln family and all the furniture
She makes a pretty cute Mr. Lincoln
Lincoln's tomb. It is very impressive.
Checking out the sea otter at the Miller Park Zoo with Daddy
Kate loved the monkeys best!
Seating forward now...she's a big girl and loves it!
Oh and we had Kate's 2 year well-child check up before we headed out of down. Here are her stats:
                                                          Weight: 24 lbs 7 oz (21%itle)

We have a 2 year old!!!

Happy Birthday to my sweet Kate! I really can't believe we have a 2 year old...how did that happen?!

Kate continues to impress and amaze me every day! She has quite the little personality. She's independent, sweet, and so much fun! She's continually learning and says new little phrases or big words that surprise me every day. She's always singing and has the sweetest little voice. She's obsessed with playing outside and is always on the move. Although she is also learning to throw a tantrum or two, I treasure each day we spend together. I couldn't ask for a better job. I am SO lucky to be her mommy and loved sharing our special birthday/Mother's Day!
I made Kate a teepee
She insisted on opening her presents inside of it :)
Kate's grandparents spoiled her rotten

Kate loves her wagon from Tim's parents
She also adores her kitchen from my parents
Out for it's maiden voyage. Enough room for Kate and many of her "friends"

I love you with all of my heart my sweet Kate!

Birthday Week

Kate is turning 2 years old....our little lady is growing up and I've had a lot of fun planning and looking forward to her special day. Aside from planning A LOT of time outside and bubbles... I wanted to make Kate's birthday week extra special!  I planned a special event for each day...and boy, we had a lot of fun!

MONDAY- Mani/pedi...Kate totally loved it and can't stop talking about her "pink...toes!"
TUESDAY- Picnic in the park

WEDNESDAY- The Circus came to town!

THURSDAY- Quarter Rides at the Mall and Chick-fil-A

FRIDAY- Elmo Party
SATURDAY- A visit to Petco to see the animals

Kate's Elmo Birthday Party

I was really excited to plan Kate's party this year. Despite my initial desire to have a less commercial theme, I quickly realized that Kate would so much more love an Elmo party. I mean come on, a kido's party is just for them, right?! We had a super cute little party Friday with some of Kate's closest friends and their mamas. We had a few activities including Elmo storytime, a coloring corner with Sesame Street coloring pages, made Cookie Monster creations out of salt dough, and played pin the nose on Elmo. It was really fun! And then we enjoyed some yummy lunch. It was a total hit!

Happy 2nd Birthday to Kate! Sure thankful for wonderful friends!

We were so lucky to have Grandma B come visit us for a few days last week. We enjoyed some great weather, some rainy weather, bubbles in the backyard, playing at the Children's Museum, and visiting the Amish town of Kalona. Thanks for coming to visit Kim!
