Carthage, IL

Happy MLK Day! To celebrate Tim's day off of school we took a little overnight trip down to Nauvoo.  With the long drive and taking turns watching Kate we never seem to have enough time to see all the historic sites when we go to Nauvoo for our monthly visit to the temple. We've especially been wanting to go to Carthage and finally made it. Carthage Jail is where the Prophet Joseph Smith and his brother Hyrum were martyred in 1844. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect upon his life and strengthen our testimonies.

20 months

Happy 20 month birthday to Kate this past Saturday! I am just totally loving this stage. Kate is just so.much.fun!! Aside from leaving our families, Kate was very excited to return to Iowa primarily to return home to her Minnie Mouse stuffed animal and her pink grocery cart! She hasn't stopped playing with them since our return.

Kate is loving all of her Christmas toys and is busy every minute. Her vocabulary just continues to climb and I can always find her singing a sweet little song. She's now starting to put words together like "i see," "up please," and "let's go."

John Deere Pavilion

So we got back from Utah on Tuesday and Tim doesn't start school till Monday...which means enjoying as much time with Tim as possible! We decided to head out to Moline, IL to check out the John Deere Pavilion...the world's largest agriculture museum. It was pretty awesome...a little (and big) boys dream. They have 20 or so pieces of equipment that they let you climb in. It is pretty impressive. We had a great time and Kate especially loved pushing all the buttons.
